"Stop focusing on how big your list is and start focusing on how qualified your leads are. Quality over quantity."
Launching doesn’t have to mean sleepless nights, endless hustle, and sacrificing your lifestyle. You can build a streamlined funnel that helps you hit 6-figure launch goals without running yourself into the ground. In the past 4+ years as a launch copywriter, I've seen these five mistakes keep most entrepreneurs stuck in the 5-figure launch zone—mistakes that can be fixed with the right strategies.
If launches feel stressful, unpredictable, or like they’re not working as well as you hoped, this is for you. By the end of this post, you’ll know how to fix the leaks in your funnel, focus on what matters, and create a launch process that feels simple, sustainable, and successful.
Oh and to finally hit that 6-figure milestone!
Let’s break it all down. ✨
First, let’s clarify: Your funnel doesn’t have to be perfect to work. But it does need to be strategic. After working behind the scenes on 50+ launches, I’ve seen the difference between entrepreneurs who easily hit their goals and those who hustle endlessly without the results to show for it.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
The entrepreneurs hitting their launch goals work fewer hours while their funnels do the heavy lifting.
Those who are stuck in hustle mode? They’re often overcomplicating their launches, trying to do everything at once, or relying on strategies that aren’t aligned with their goals.
There's a common misconception that launching has to be stressful and overwhelming. I’m here to show you how to simplify your business, live your freedom lifestyle, and reach your revenue goals.
Imagine: You’re in the middle of a launch, but instead of working 60-hour weeks, you’re heading to your 9 AM Pilates class, going on a mid-afternoon hot girl walk with friends, and still hitting $100K+ by cart close.
I promise you, it’s doable. By avoiding the mistakes I’m about to share, you’ll gain clarity, streamline your process, and most importantly, stop wasting time on busy work.
You've heard the phrase, “The money is in the list.” And while that’s true, it’s not the whole story. The quality of your email list is just as important—if not more so—than its size.
One of my clients was growing her email list by 1,000 leads every month. On paper, it looked great. But she wasn’t converting those leads into buyers for her high-ticket subscription program. Why? Because her opt-ins were attracting freebie seekers who weren’t in the right stage of business for her offer.
Even the best funnel, the most irresistible offer, and the most polished messaging won’t convert if you promote it to the wrong people. If your list is full of freebie seekers, or if you’ve pivoted your business and are still marketing to an outdated audience, you will struggle to hit your goals.
Focus on both list quality and quantity. Your opt-ins should attract people ready to buy—or at least aligned with your offer.
Use segmentation to divide your audience into groups based on their interests, stage of business, or readiness to buy. This allows you to send the right message to the right people.
Action Step: Audit your email list. Where are your leads coming from? Do they align with your ideal client avatar (ICA)? If not, it’s time to adjust your lead-generation strategy to focus on quality over quantity.
If you’ve ever felt frustrated that your launch didn’t hit your goals but couldn’t figure out why, this is probably the reason. Most entrepreneurs don’t know how many people they need at each stage of their funnel to reach their revenue goals—and that makes it almost impossible to know where to focus your time and energy.
Let’s say you’re aiming for a $100K launch and your offer is priced at $2,500. You know you need 40 buyers to hit your goal. But do you know how many people need to land on your sales page? Or how many need to attend your webinar? Without these numbers, you’re using guesswork as a strategy. This may have worked as you grew to 6-figures annually, but to hit 6-figures in a launch you need to be more focused on a plan and your numbers.
Reverse-engineer your revenue goal. Start with the number of sales you need, then work backward to calculate how many leads and conversions you need at each stage of your funnel.
Track your data. Analyze past launches or campaigns to see where people drop off in the funnel. Are they not clicking through your emails? Not attending your webinar? Not converting on the sales page?
Action Step: Review your funnel metrics from previous launches. Compare your conversion rates at each stage to industry benchmarks to identify where your funnel is leaking.
If you’re unsure what benchmarks to aim for, grab my free masterclass, “Simplified Millions,” where I break down the exact numbers you need to hit your goals.
Most business owners aren’t sending enough emails during their launches. And while you might worry about annoying your audience, the reality is that most people aren’t reading every email you send.
Email is your best friend—with the highest conversion rates—when it comes to nurturing leads, addressing objections, and converting subscribers into buyers. Think of your email sequence as a conversation—each email meets your audience where they are in their decision-making process.
For an open cart webinar launch, aim to send 18 emails during your launch period. Yes, 18.
Include a mix of content: educational emails, testimonials, FAQs, and urgency-driven reminders.
Action Step: Plan your email sequence before your launch. Include emails that address different stages of the buyer journey—from awareness to decision-making—and don’t be afraid to send more than you think you need.
If you’re stuck in the cycle of always creating new offers, freebies, or flash sales, you’re spreading yourself too thin. More offers don’t mean more revenue—they just mean more work.
Instead of having the time and space to refine and optimize an offer, you end up stuck in hustle mode. Launching becomes stressful, unpredictable, and exhausting—and that’s not sustainable.
Think of it like growing apple trees in your yard. If you plant a bunch of seeds you need to run around watering, feeding and nurturing them all while they all fight for space. You end up with a forest of half-grown trees. But if you nurture one tree—watering it, pruning it, and giving it time to grow—that tree will produce more fruit than all the others combined.
Go all in on one high-converting offer. Instead of spreading yourself thin with multiple products, focus your time and energy on scaling one signature program to 6-figures.
Create reusable launch assets like email sequences, sales pages, and social media content that you can use over and over again. This saves you time and makes each launch easier than the last.
Action Step:
Audit your offer suite. How many products are you launching each year? How much time are you spending creating new offers?
Identify your core offer and commit to refining and optimizing it until it becomes your main source of revenue.
Reuse your launch assets for every launch—don’t reinvent the wheel.
Let’s talk about your copy—because if your funnel isn’t converting, there’s a good chance your messaging is the problem.
Generic copy: If your messaging sounds bland or vague, your audience won’t connect.
Jumping straight into the offer: Effective copy builds a bridge between where your audience is now and where they want to be. It connects with their struggles and desires before presenting the solution.
Using expert bias: This happens when you’re so close to your offer that you write from your perspective, not your audience’s.
For example, if you’re a health coach, you might know that your client’s real problem is poor time management. But they don’t see it that way—they see their problem as feeling exhausted and not having time to work out or cook healthy meals.
Write conversational, relatable copy that speaks directly to your audience’s struggles and desires.
Anchor your messaging with tangible outcomes and proof. Don’t just promise results—show them through testimonials, case studies, or specific data points.
Avoid “coach speak”—words that sound good but mean nothing—focus on clear, actionable language.
Action Step: Review your sales copy. Ask yourself:
Would this excite me as a buyer?
Does it clearly explain the transformation my audience will experience?
Is there social proof or testimonials that build trust and credibility?

We’ve covered a lot, so let’s quickly recap the five funnel mistakes that could be blocking your 6-figure launch:
List Quality Over Quantity: Focus on attracting qualified leads who align with your offer, not just growing your list for the sake of it.
Know Your Funnel Metrics: Reverse-engineer your revenue goals and track your conversion rates to identify leaks in your funnel.
Send More Emails: Plan for at least 18 emails to nurture, educate, and convert your audience during your launch.
Simplify Your Offers: Go all in on one high-converting program and reuse your launch assets to scale sustainably.
Write Copy That Converts: Revamp your messaging to be clear, compelling, and results-driven—no more vague, generic language.
With these strategies, you’ll simplify your launches, optimize your funnel, and create a more predictable path to 6-figure success—all while working fewer hours.
